BT on Paul Oakenfold

BT: Like, i look at this incredible affection and respect that people have for Paul Oakenfold, when he has not particapated in a single of music that hes put his name on.
MIXER: Whoa..and thats the truth?
BT: Dude, i've been there. Call Andy Grey or Steve Osbourne if you wanna know who Paul Oakenfold is. PO is a in hand puppet. Hes a good businessman, but he is not the creator of music. Half the time when he's DJing, he's just playing CDs so he can do the Jesus Christ pose. Its an embarresment. You have people that are considered overly commercialized that are such incredible talents, and youve got some douchebag like Oakenfold taking the credit for other people's work. |

What I posted in the other thread.
About the Oakenfold and BT.
BT was signed to perfecto back in 95. BT sais that he didnt have any "creativity" on the label therefor leaving Ima & ESCM to be more of a progressive house/trance sound where as Movement In Still Life being a more expierimental album. He sais Oakenfold didnt give him much freedom in what he wanted to do back then and since he did Movement In Still Life without a label that he had alot of freedom. He did it on his own and then brought it to the label where he then sais that they loved it.

| i read that whole interview, all i can say is qaulity. the oakey thing i have read numerous interviews were artist talk about oakey. |

| i dont believe all that. theres no way hed of got to where he is now under 'hand puppet' status. its probably half true and then been totally elaborated on. for instance on the 2001 release of JJ- Flesh, the cd contained an edit adn the tiesto mix. the edit, was infact an edit of the tiesto mix, but what did it read "p o radio edit". all he did was edit it himself, which i thought it was a bit lame. i wonder if anyone else can give some other specific examples. |

hmm, personally I don't see how BT could be jealous of Oakey...Brian has waaay more talent than Paul. |

but seriously i think its probly just a mix of what u guys have been saying....BTs probly just a little pissed off that oakenfold's getting so much attention cuz he's so commercialized...and maybe partly what he said is the truth |

| i used to love these two. nowadays BT is being a bitch cuz he's getting recognition all over US. (he thinks he's the best now). about oakey, although he's getting to commercialized (the only thing i dont like from him), he still is a good producer and i think a very good dj/mixer! oh well that's my opinion. :) |

I used to adore Oakey for his sets... But I worship Brian for his gigantic music talent that only few modern musicians can rival... So yeah... That's my point on these two...
On the other side, since BT left perfecto (where he was basically the "2nd in command" according to Pete Tong), it means he had very good reasons to do so. Thus, he is still pissed at Oakey... |

true that. BT may not be the best dj, (although i loved his set last December) but his productions are superb compared to oakies.

Im with BT on this one... Oakey sucks dick... BT is farr greater producer, maybe he is little pissed off after his studio being broken into and all... not easy i wouldnt believe.
Which brings me to my conspiricy theory that oakenfold broke into BT's studio and stole his gear.
