Acosta - Live at The Palace, Gainesville, FL 10.11.02 REVIEW!!

alright. here's gonna be my long ass review, but pretty much of the entire weekend, cuz i chilled with spykechyld for a lot of it :D
so, whatever, friday, spykechyld (bo), b0bb0 (bobby), bobby's friend mitch, and myself chilled at bo's place before going to acosta :crazy: <--- yeah, that pretty much says it all. we must do it again! :D
so we get to the palace around 10:30, admission was only $10 and i was expecting to pay $25, so hey 10 was great for acosta, espically in gainesville! the palace was pretty alright i guess, it would have been a lot better had it not been PACKED AS HELL though! the palace is an old theater turned into a club, so it was kinda weird, but still cool. sound system was decent, i mean, come on for gainesville, i thought it was pretty good. the lights were pretty bad though, i thought they coulda done a lot better job on the lights, but again, hey, its gainesville, and they've never really had an "electronic" event there, so i couldn't expect too much.
debbie d spun before acosta, which at first i thought was pretty cool. but she gets about a 4/10 for her set. damn gainesville remixes. lol. she mixed a few good tracks, breakbeats though, so i was the only one really feeling those, but then again, she ed up a lot of mixes too, so bah. the thing that kinda pissed me off was, acosta was supposed to come on at 12, and i dunno why, but he came on about 25 minutes late, so great :rolleyes: , we had to hear 25 minutes more of debbie d. so FINALLY acosta comes and just makes us all go maaad crazy. but it was packed as hell, and there was no room to dance :( but he laided down a freakin nice ass set. all i can remember was hearing in my memory and jesus that just made me feel like i was floating above the crowd. :D but they made acosta stop around 1:45, even though the ing club closes at 2, ING GAINESVILLE S!! :whip: :whip: :whip: but acosta did what he could for us, and for that i thank him!!! :D worth $10.
so we went back to bo's after the club threw us all out, and hurray, had more fun there :crazy: :crazy: :D
then we all went our seperate ways.
but saturday, my friend that i was staying with and i were bored, so i called bo and we hit up a party, started drinking, then bo and i drove to ginnie springs to a campsite for a party there. but i had to be back soon in the morning to catch my ride back to tally, so bo's friend dane (sp?) drove me back in bo's car. but we made a wrong turn at a closed texaco and then ran out of gas!!! so we were waiting for an hour till bo finally found us. we drove back to the gas station which was now open, mind you, it was getting light by this time, borrowed a gas tank from the gas station, filled it up, drove back to the car, car still didn't start. went back, got more gas, filled up the car again, and then finally it worked. but the gas can had a leak, so we used a towel to stop it from leaking, so of course the towel is soaked in gas, so what did we do??? we took a lighter and set that bitch on fire!!! so after that we drove back to the gas station, filled up the cars tank and then drove back to the campsite to get our stuff. at the campsite, i just burned a whole bunch of garbage! :D including a ton of marshmellows! does anyone have any idea how COOL marshmellows burn??? ING AWESOME!! :D so finally, we left, and then i got home!
BUT...THANK YOU BO, THANK YOU BOBBY, AND THANK YOU GEORGE ACOSTA FOR A KICKASS WEEKEND!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Nu Breed gonna be in G-Ville? hell yes! Ya'll stay the weekend like Pat did and we'll have a party on friday night and Nu-Breed on Saturday.

And yes, it's Gainesville, damnitall, I know, we suck ass:mad: Oh well, Acosta was well worth the 10 bucks. Probally was 20 but when Debbie D was added it dropped the price, rofl. Damn "Gainesville Mix" :rolleyes:
And Flo, Bobby...Neither of you were complaining much about the lights when you were staring at that green bouncing laser for like, an hour. LOL. High bastards, heheheheh....
So what about Nu-Breed? lets start planning for this, Acosta just got me all excited about possibilities for , hopefully Gainesville will re-enter itself into the music scene and we can have mad parties in the future! |

Pat, the best part is they have that light doing that every night! The lighting in there is lame, so I guess they figure they better keep something cool. That damn green light bounces whenever the club is open! I can see Bobby & Flo going and sitting through Hip-Hop night just to watch that little thing. ROFL.
