am I the only one who HATES wistles in live sets? which is strange because I really like the sounds of the crowd chearing during the sets, but when some idiot starts tooting his damn wistle a set i can't stand it >_<

even worse is when I am at the a show and someone has one, I went to a tiesto show recently and this guy was right behind me, blowing the in' thing right in my ear :whip: even after i asked him to not blow it so loudly cause it hurt my ears he still did, oooo i wanted to punch him

ur not the only ones. There a pain in the ass.

Whistles are very irritating. But it's even more irritating when you have literally thousands of people screaming 'Hey Ho'. In Holland that used to be a 'notorious' sentence. Don't know if it's still used, because I haven't been to a party lately. But at the beginning of this year you had thousands of people screaming this.

yeah whistles suck .. especially that guy during Paul van Dyk @ Rosenmontags 2002 .. about 35 minutes there is a quiet breakdown and the guy tries to blow in time with the music.. not even close :whip:

Whistles do suck BUT there is one set where the whistle does one
hell of an impression!

Its in a Blank & Jones set, think it was from Trance Energy, its
so ing cool. I dont really know how to explain it but.. there
is a guy with a whistle that is whistling in pace with the music
and the main tempo, what does Mr Blank & Jones do ?

They LOWER the music at a couple of times and let the guy fill in
with his whistle, its totally quiet except for the whistle.
ITS SO ING COOL!

Gives me goosebumps everytime.

I'm alone in this but SOME form of whistling in a live set does hype me up and I do enjoy them along with the music. It makes me feel like the crowd is enjoying themselves and for those live sets that I can only get to listen to in mp3 form, it makes me feel like I'm there with them, it adds to the mood. Imagine a liveset with no crowd sounds nor chants!

whistles do suck, pretty much all European sets have them but most American sets don't have them though because if you brought a whistle into a club over in America they would think of it as something to do with drugs and they would take it away from you. Maybe thats a good thing when the set is being recorded!!

Great Outdoors: Agreed but if the guy NEVER stops whistling, whistling all over
the breakdown, the buildup etc.. it gets irritating ;)

I'm not a big fan of whistles either ...
but if i recall correctly, ... Tiesto's innercity set has some at the very beginning.

considering this is the album that brought me into trance, it still gives me goosebumps ...

cheerz
