Virus banks

Can anyone recommend some virus banks other than the vengeance ones? I'm mainly after some good acid sounds for uplifting trance.

Cheers
Lith
Not to be crass, but I'm pretty sure the stock banks are made exactly for that.

If you change the envelopes on the filters a bit, and add distortion, you should get the sounds you want.

Access' site has a bunch of banks you can download. There's even a "Trance Addicts Virus TI Bank" which I assume comes from this place?

Or maybe you're looking for something else?

Yes, several of us TAs put it together a few years ago. It's pretty diverse and has some acid sounds and other patches that are good for uplifting trance, but it's not designed for any particular genre/subgenre.

Yeah I've got the TA one already... some nice sounds cryo ;)

Your right, stock does have some good ones that I've come across and can recognise from known tracks but I was wondering if anyone knew of something specifically for trance that contains good acid sounds.

Thanks! I've actually been considering seeing if there was any interest in doing a v2, after things slow down for me at work in the next month or so.

Sounds like a good idea, but I think I'll leave the patch making to the people who know what they're doing, I'm still very much a virus noob :p

Take a preset or a patch from a downloaded bank, twist the knobs--new sound. Unless you have a Snow, then maybe some menus and twist some knobs. Either way, I suggest you get into it rather than have an artificial layer impeding your music-making process.

It's designed for this exact type of sound. Go wild on it!

Alan Marcero innit.

Damn. If his website is right, he's made nearly $100k from soundbank downloads.

That's more than you'll ever see from releasing 15 years of EDM tracks unless you get lucky and someone uses it on a TV show.

You got in to the right biz Geoff.

I was thinking the same myself. It helps that his demos sound good, makes all the difference. Maybe stating the obvious but its surprising how many don't sound good even if the patches are half decent.

When you go through the checkout process he has it set to pay what you like so i bet a large portion of those sales are freeloaders
