I am getting into the production of electronic music. What I would like to do is start a project where I take a good song and decompose it, then put it back together. What this would entail would be to have an ability to completely analyze the sounds in each song and how they are formatted into the structure of the song. Then I can use ableton to put it back together using my own synthesized sounds... Basically I need the knowledge on how to resynthesize a sound based on the analysis of it. A good understanding of composition would be also good.
If anyone has good resources, preferably free or cheap, on how to get started on this, I would greatly appreciate it. I am using ableton 9 suite and I also have traktor software. I eventually want to use all sorts of fancy tools but I have to master what I already have before I buy anything more.
The goal is to gain the ability to have a thorough understanding of how songs are composed and what all the specific sounds are. I want to do the same things with songs that Henry ford did with cars... Take them apart and put them back together. |
