What do you guys think is the best trance/house mixer for under $400. Im thinking of getting the Vestax pcv 275 right now. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

Vestax PCV275 is a great mixer.

DJM300 is good too, i thought about that one. but decided against it, for these reasons:

1. it had beatcounters. some call this a feature, and it might be nice, but i didn't want it on my mixer, i wanted to learn to mix the the real way.

2. it only had 2 channels, and 4 inputs. my vestax has 3 channels, and NINE inputs. i wanted to eventually expand to 3 decks, and some line sources such as computer, and CD players, so i didn't feel the DJM300 had enough for me.

3. i heard the cross faders wear out quickly. the vestax has a very good crosfader PCV, much better than the DJM300

also, the vestax has kill switches, and those are nice to have.

i've never had a chance to mess around with other top trance/house mixers but my friend just got a pcv275 and its a really amazing mixer. Well worth the $$! I'd reccomend it if you want a really good trance mixer for under 400. I'm saving to get mine. hope that helps

Pioneer DJM 300. I've never used the vestax 275 before but I prefer the Pioneer's out of all the other mixers i've used..

i'd say DJM300 too. The 275 is a good box, but ive had a better experience with the DJM300.

if you REALLY need more than 2 channels, you should just break down and get a real 4 channel mixer with an assignable fader so you can really take advantage of the third channel.. then again alot of people dont even use the fader.. but i do :P

Looks like the Pioneer has the slight edge among the people here. The vestax seems to have more functions but the word of mouth about the djm 300 is really good. Man this is going to be a hard decision.

ok first of all Pioneer is a very good brand, indeed

thing is that vestax is also a very good brand :D

I have a friend that has the 300 and I myself have a 275 so I've tried both a lot and from my experience i can say that the 275 is a much nicer mixern imo...

first of all it's channelfaders are working all the way, on the pioneer you crank them up to 50% and still no change....then after that and upwards you hear the volumechange

the pioneer on the other hand has nicer EQ imo than the 275, it kills the freq better than the 275

but then again the 275 has the killswitches :D

also there is better space between the knobs on the pioneer but the pioneer on the other hand doesn't feel like a real mixer when it comes in that size, i guess it's just in my brains but I don't like the size of it.....it just doesn't feel like a real mixer compared to the 275 :D

ohh and the 275 has one more chanel and more inputs :D

well as you see there are lots pros and cons and the ones mentioned here is probably just a few of them....try them out at a local dj-store for yourself and pick the one that feels best....and remember, you get what you pay for :)
