what's up my Brazilian addicts ? :D i heard there was an "Arab" trend not long ago in your lovely sunny country , is it true ? :D i also heard there are a lot of Lebanese people out there , is this true too ? :D

Maaz
I could swear I had replied to this thread one hour ago, but anyway  (that's what happens when you have way too many browsers opened :D)

Yeah, our main TV station broadcasted a soap opeara that was filmed in Morocco, so we all got to know the culture, the people, and obviously, it becamse very popular here :) We had some arab influence because of the immigration (I've got 1/16th Syrian or Lebanese blood myself :D), then it's not really surprising that our greatest fast-food chaing (Habib's) is famous because of its esfihas (it's way better than McDonalds).

Hehe, by the way, so far I'm the only Brazilian TA here, all the others are from Portugal or they learned portuguese as a 2nd language. I've got to pm those lazy arses to come here more often :D

hrmm....some people consider me panamanian, but others call me gringo, which in all reality i dont really care, but its funny, because im not...really, i dont think i have a nationality, but if i where to choose one it would be panamanian i suppose, since i have lived here all my life, and i love the place.... i have an american citizenship, but i dont consider myself to be to american at all, but since i speak english better than any other language i tend to be stereotyped as an american, ...so, ..i guess im just a up or a hybrid, depending on your choice of wording:) ...i speak alot of spanish in my opinion.., but my grammar has usually given me trouble, and i understand spanish almost perfectly..i can write it alright, but i guess its mostly just grammar that has plagued me for the past 18 years of my life... ( i live outside of the city, so i never got to practice to much, and its kind of developed into a traumatic experience :D im sure miss_e can tell you how stupid i sound !! hah, well i dont think i sound that stupid..but she's a bitch (hahaha!) so she will probably say i do) .
