Toronto mainstay Lush is widely known and revered as a pioneering Jungle/Drum & Bass DJ in Canada. The DJ�s DJ, as he is continually referred to by his peers, has been a �student� of the art of DJing and a follower of the Hardcore Continuum, moving from Hardcore, to Jungle, onto Drum & Bass, and forward into the current genre bending hybrids of Bass music for the last two decades. A true champion of the underground, Lush has always been respected as a highly influential tastemaker who takes risks breaking new music and setting musical trends, yet presenting it with a natural flare and understanding for making it work on the dance floor. This is probably due to his many years of standing in the middle of the crowd himself, taking in all the energy and sounds of the scene that he loves. His super technical rolling mixing style has been his trademark though out his career, winning over crowds and other DJ�s alike with his high energy puzzle piece mixing. Today, Lush remains a fixture behind the decks in Toronto, from big main room Drum n Bass festivals to hazy backrooms playing bottom heavy Garage and House, he approaches it all with the same enthusiasm and razor sharp precision, tailoring his style to fit whatever crowd is in front of him. He continues to press forward pushing his love of other tempos of Bass music through his role as a co founder and curator for the widely successful podcast station Channel One, and as the label manager for fast rising imprint Inner City Dance, which he owns in partnership with Toronto icon Marcus Visionary. Lush's twenty plus year love affair with playing new and exciting music is as strong today as it has been since he started, fuelled by an unbridled passion for the music that he plays, a burning desire to share it with people, and a relentless obsession to further his technical skill behind the decks. With a firm history and foundation already behind him, the legacy of the sarcastic young Junglist kid turned seasoned veteran from Toronto continues to be written.
