The problem with Big Room tracks in general is you need a very catchy or memorable hook. This doesn't have it to me.
I think of W&W's "Bigfoot", Jochen Miller's current stuff, and Mark Sixma's remix of Cosmic Gate's "Crushed" as great examples of what I'm trying to say above.
The mix-down is very clean though, and the instrument choices work well together. The build is really cool too and has some neat tension.
Big Room is all about instant identity, and this one just feels like another thing in the crowd right now. It takes a long time to get to the melodic line, which is neat (the one around 2:30).
The drop is anti-climatic though. You really need to use that melody you just had through the back half to keep the identity of the track together.
Hope that helps. |
