This is such a common misconception. Jesus wasn't even "posing" in that photo, he was just afraid this giant bird flying overhead was going to take a massive on Paul and was simply gesturing upwards, but then Paul simply gawked agape to a facefull. Communion has changed a bit since then.

Also, every grungy be-sandaled dude I have ever known who shacks up with a dozen other guys has loved electronic music. Just sayin'.

I'm not sure how jesus would feel about the gratiutous amounts of exposed skin and drug use that are found at your typical event featuring trance music. I grew up in the southeastern US "bible belt", with the excessive sheltering and indoctrination and all that comes with it. To me, reaching adulthood and being able to go to those parties without anyone stopping me felt like freedom. I abandoned christianity midway through college and am a lot happier for it.

I didn't declare it publicly though, sometimes I still show up and church because it is important to keep up appearances. You have to be in the good ol' boys club to get a job. My reccomendation to all the younglings out there that are feeling conflicted is to never let people make you feel guilty or ashamed for doing what you like. You can go to a party and drink a beer, have a dance, or whatever you wanna do from time to time and still be a good person. As long as you handle your responsibilites, you shouldn't feel guilty about persuing whatever it is that makes you feel good.

The thing about Trance ( at least for me) is that your either in 100% or not at all. Same thing for following Christ. Some trance gives me such emotion that I totally forget about god or the bible all together, this is not a good thing. Now, I know there's "Christian Trance" out there but most of it is really wonky. Where does Trance and Christianity come together, I mean really? I could think of a few really good tracks that could blur the line but it still doesn't fill the gap, and then there's Trance that's so deep that I wish I could really see what Christ's reaction to it would be, an example of this would be the break in Planisphere - Moonshine...such a tear jerker.

A+ thread right here. Amazing.

I found a solution for you. You can dance your ass off to this pounding track, and pray to JC at the same time.

Listen and you'll see what I mean:

You could even be trippin' balls to this and you still won't forget about the bible. ;)

In my humble opinion (coming from a Christian who heard all of these same arguments throughout the 70s and 80s about "Christian" rock), and has always been a lover of music of all kinds, music is music, what or who you choose to do/worship is separate from that. And yes even at 45 and having studied applied piano at a university, Some of this music is incredible, and then some not so much, but hey that is just my humble opinion and we each have to decide is it good for us as individuals or not....

Nah, I think most here are closer to just 50%, which maybe even is on the high side.

+1

Just curious, how did you get here at TA being 45?
I noticed a Dutch guy posting here too, signed up last week and is 38.
Surprised me a bit (I'm 40).

I have always listened to all kinds of music. I am currently working on some new music and bought some toys (omnisphere & maschine). I was looking for ideas on how to best integrate them and then search and then here I am. As I said earlier, I have yet to find a style of music that I don't like.
