I am taking a break from my own tracks, and looking to do a remix.
There's this track in Paul van Dyk - Live in Vancouver (part 2), that is VERY sweet, but was never released. This PvD set is the only recording of it I can find ;) I can't get a positive ID, but it is supposedly called Straydog - The Next Chapter.
I was like 'damn, I wish I could play this during a live set'
Then I tought I could do a construction like Azreal does for many radio rips.
Then I decided to have a little more fun with it, and do a remix ;)
So, all I have is this PvD recording. And there's basically two ways I can do this:
A. I make a sample of the lead synth using the PvD set.
B. I attempt to remake that synth in Maelstrom or Subtractor.
if I go with A., can you guys give me some ideas as how I should extract the sample.
if I go with B., can u guys give me any thoughts or tips as to how to duplicate that synth?
