If you're not looking for monitors, then I highly recommend bose companion 3's. They're about US 300 dollars and they absolutely blow the water out of any other speakers I've heard in a similar range (much better than twice as good as 200/300 dollar logitech speakers). I've had them for 6 years and they're quite reliable as well. My gf was recently in the market for some and we chose those for her as well as there wasn't much else comparable.
The 150 dollar logitech speakers are a bit cheaper but these will blow them out of the water. I'd also avoid 5.1 if you can, unless you want to spend at least 2 grand (possibly more) on speakers then you're essentially going to lose some fidelity for the extra positioning (which will be irrelevent to 99% of music). |

My wife would throw those out in like 2 seconds :)
I would say if someone asks for budget pc speakers he is thinking of something small. |

I know right. Even if he doesn't care about budget those are still way too big. I love how the person who makes a snob post doesn't even have a clue what they're talking about. I suspect they might've been trolling though. |

When someone says pc speakers they almost certainly mean things of a certain size. Obviously you can just hook up lounge speakers to your pc but that's missing the point. |

| He just wants to listen some music while running on his Nordic track in his bedroom. There really is no need for premium expensive brands for that and IMO it shouldn't cost more than $150. |

Yes, exactly. I'm just looking for some plug n' play 2.1 computer speakers without having to get a separate amplifier, etc. I'm not looking for expensive speakers that have trebles that will make my ears bleed and bass that will turn my internal organs into jello...... just decent sounding speakers that I can listen to with all genres of music, especially 80's love songs. :toocool:
Probably around $200 or a little more depending if it's worth the extra money for better sound. |

I learned the hawrdway about audiophile products a very long time ago, yeah i once tried 150 IC rca's to improve quality of mix or audiophile power cord in a mixer. was horrible, sound was so bloated and weird. Audiophile doesn't exist in the world of producing or djing for that matter. My reason for doing was just trying to take things further. |
