Dubstep....... you guys like?

| WTH is up with this 'dubstep' craze? Seems like everyone and their grandmas are getting into it....... is it really considered 'electronica music' in the sense that it's sort of an underground kinda thing that only cool people know? Will it be the death of electronica (trance, house, hardcore, drum n' bass, techno, jungle, etc)? Because it has a very 'commercial' feel to it and doesn't give off the same vibe/feeling as trance where you can close your eyes and the music will send you off into space and beyond! Ya'll know what I'm talking about haterz. :D |

Properly, only post 2011 has DubStep been dubbed as an 'electronic genre', I believe. Please correct me.
Does it deserve a label? Well where does it come from? I would say it's the product of D&B, Breaks, and Old-School Trance (Hard House).
Most music ends up in some 'basket' at 'some' point, usually after it reaches some amount of popularity.
So, yes, a music genre and a trend, unfortunately. |
