| Hispanics and blacks really know how to compliment a woman. :stongue: ok maybe the guy who silently followed her for five minutes needs to work on his game. |

You know, two combined minutes of cat-calls for ten hours worth of downtown walking is really an optimistic figure.
...I-Is what a misogynist would say. |

The video raises an interesting point. But one will not go far, even after correctly classifying harassment from the perspective of the victim and the harasser. Even the guy following her can argue against harassment. Compliment, as weak or horrible as it may seem, is from the eyes of the harasser and the reception of it as such will vary greatly depending on the woman, and other factors.
Anyway, I'm not one to care that much about this video. In a bigger perspective, I'm more concerned about the voiceless, children who are commercialized and have their childhoods stolen from them. Yes, these children include boys and girls, but they are children first.
It is sickening to see how society as a group reacts to different events. A dog gets killed by an officer, the video goes viral. A woman walks quietly on New York, conditioning her area to walk, what she dresses, and modifying body language, and it goes viral. Children are abducted and then sold across countries for sex or organs, it rarely hits the news. Across countries!
In the US specifically, some celebrity accounts get hacked and pictures surface on an Internet site, then the FBI jumps on it like it's the end of the world yet they can't do anything about children, let alone minority children. Resources are dumbly destined to useless investigations. We live in a society who thinks posting a selfie with a sign is enough to help little girls. SMH. |
