This event is 21 and over. No cover.
Wind down your weekend with a funday at Verboten's Sunday brunch. Decadent food and cocktails served 12-8 in the sunny Cabaret bar, with music provided by the crew from Playdate.

Playdate
Playdate is a new, curated experience of sound and art, made by a collective of artists, musicians, and friends to bring quality electronic music to New York.

Blueshift
As a DJ, Blueshift delivers a set that is emphatically unique and indulgent for any crowd. Drawing inspiration from his appreciation of a wide variety of sounds, recent years have found him exposing listeners to the freshest in deep house and garage. Along with a signing to Nurvous Records with fellow Philadelphian ILY under the guise of Mr. Falcon, Blueshift's production style fuses elements from various genres.

Blueshift has the the distinct privilege of co-founding the French Express blog and working for a time with the now world-famous brand's publicity. As well as writing articles for the influential Stoney Roads blog, he is also a resident DJ and promoter for several parties on the East coast. With recent gigs in Denver, Washington DC, Portsmouth, Harrisburg, and having mixes aired on a variety of radio and global digital stations, he is bringing his style to an ever-growing audience. There is no question Blueshift has his finger on the pulse of the future of underground dance music.

Christian A
Insatiable hunger for music has always been deep in his soul .It was not until 2002 When he mixed his pair of Vinyl's that his DJ journey really began. His dedication as a DJ is to uplift spirituality in humanity through music taking the audience on seamless musical Journey's. Peakkontrol has immersed himself on this musical path. Building a reputation for his art in mixing and combining all styles of music. Holding down residencies all over NYC like the Legendary Original Le Souk and having DJ internationally. Inspired by amazing influences and friends.

Kittypep
KittyPep is made up of the boyfriend/girlfriend DJ duo of Kayla and Andy, aka DJ Kitty and Pepzler. DJ Kitty plays a more upbeat, funky blend of house, while Pepzler tends to stick to techier, and at times, darker sounds. When the two come together in head to head mixing, the individual styles become something more. The result is a musical ride where you can expect almost anything, and you’re sure to be left entertained and wanting more. That is KittyPep and we’re purrrfect together.

Nick Self
A connoisseur of the groovier side of classic house and techno, Nick has that ideal touch for reviving fun vibes on the dance floor. Without a doubt, his eccentric and funk-based sets mix pleasant nostalgia with current underground gems to rock out any party. You'd be hard-pressed to find a local record-collector as open-minded and knowledgeable as this Brooklynite.

P Rabell
P. Rabell (Paul Moreno) grew up in a multicultural household, filled with sounds ranging from Tito Puente and The Gypsy Kings to The Beatles and Stevie Wonder, so from an early age, Paul was infused with both the hypnotic, driving power of percussion, and the emotional impact of great melodies. Introduced to electronic music in the 4th grade by way of the Tranzworld series, Paul began a long journey of musical discovery that eventually led to the purchase of a pair of CDJs and a copy of Logic. Paul is consistently critical about the music he makes and listens to, and his taste is evolving at a rapid rate, so you can never be too sure what to expect from one of his sets. But what doesn't change is his determination to make and find music that strikes an emotional chord in him and anyone who is listening. That is what P. Rabell is all about, and you can be sure that his sets and productions are trying their damnedest to make you move, groove, and be moved.

Seth Hosko
Seth is first and foremost a violinist, and built a passion for experimental electronic music that recently landed him behind the decks. His individual style reflects his instrumental roots -- melodies and experimental elements strewn with both elegance and sophistication. So far in 2014, Seth has played at Detroit's Movement Festival and Burning Man. His first productions are expected late this year.

Terron Darby
Terron Darby is shining his light proving that experience and deep understanding make him one of the freshest talents on the east coast house music scene.
Co founder of Miami based DJ collective DHM (Deep House Movement), Darby has been deeply entrenched in the house community since the early 90’s. From managing a record store, to his foundational music composition roots as a professional audio engineer, to a technology educator with loads of accolades to boast… through it all, he has found his way into a new place on his musical passageway in New York.

Darby knows his way around music and while he could adopt the “been there, done that attitude” rather adopts an infectious and luminous personality, solid perspective of balance paired with a zealous dedication to his calling.
With a focus on his own production efforts, worldwide exposure, and New York party movement "PLAYDATE”–It’s apparent his accomplishments thus far are paying off and receiving love not just from the dance floor, but also from peers and the industry alike. At the core, Darby’s quest in music thrives from emotion –the feeling of positive energy and blissful expression.
“Anything that’s this special to me (as music) in such a powerful way - I simply want to share this feeling so that the person experiencing it can create their own story with it. If something is good it will find its way . . .”

Food and drinks were amazing and the Verboten staff are all great people.

Had a great time playing some slower stuff than I usually do, but moved into some of my regular opening stuff near the end of the set.

All the other DJs were so on point too. Love that crew. Unfortunately had to hit the road back to Philly before Seth and Christian's back2back set to close out the night. I think the whole day was recorded, but waiting to hear if the recording turned out ok.
