There was a time not too long ago that the mere mention of an Armin show would cause pandemonium on this board. There would have been 100 posts within minutes of the show announcement. Now? Just a collective yawn.
Having said that, I wouldnt be surprised if this turns out to be a 3 hour show, and the ticket prices start at $75. |

Bought two tickets to it. Early bird was sold out instantly. Like within 10 seconds. Why even put Early Bird if tickets aren't available? That's Crazy! Bought 55 dollar with 12 dollar service charge. I will probably sell them to some kid willing to pay 150 each. Worst case scenario I get to see Armin play cheese for three hours with maybe some good trance mixed in.
/I know, I know, we miss 2004 Armin.
// I have a feeling he isn't coming back |

I ended up going. My friend had press passes so I figured, why not.
I showed up midway through jochen millers set. He played mostly trouse, some trance. A few songs I had never heard before. Then Armin came on at 12. The entire first hour kind of sucked. He just played big room and trouse and cheese. By 1:15 however, he got much better. Shifted to 138 stuff, a couple of tech tracks and of course vocal tracks. He played a few classics, although not many. He did a good job of mixing it up in the second half of his set. He did his Armin "I am god" performance. He is more of an entertainer now, playing to the crowd. That's always why I liked Van Dyk, he was strictly business. The low of the set was that he had everyone do the sit down. And it wasn't even like it was a good song with a genuine build up. At least he played 2 1/2 hours. At 2:30 Rayel came on and by god was it weak. There were a couple of remix tracks that I liked but overall he played generic sounding "trance". Kind of underwhelming. He also made everyone do the sit down thing. Is this a thing now? Am I missing something here? Anyway, he closed until 4. Not great. I don't understand what all the hype is about him. The highlight was the lasers. One of the best laser shows in recent memory. The production value was high though which made things easier to enjoy.
All in all, not the greatest performance but it was good to see Armin, at least for the second half of his set anyways.
