is it ever ok to read your SO's phone texts, chat logs, etc behind their back? (pg. 2)

Doing anything behind someone's back is ed up.
But if you catch her with someone in the act, you can shoot them both. |

^ heh
A variation of this is often played on the local news:
...or you can just take the damn bag. |

| Might be wired to explode if you move it, though. |

| That actually sounds hilarious, but it might be true. |
|

| As funny as it may sound, it really is true. I've done a middling amount of counter-terrorism research, and every practitioner I've talked to on the topic has warned of that. Much better to get the professionals to examine it. |

| Oh, for sure. I meant one might examine it for valuables and such. The first thought of a person who sees someone left their handbag probly won't be, "hmm, there might be a bomb in there." :p Although that particular bag does look pretty suspect. |

| I suppose for the average person; hence the need for the advertising campaigns :p My thoughts usually go straight to 'bomb.' |

Nope, but at the same time it is easy to succumb to.
I have done it in the past, and whilst it was the wrong thing to do, it also proved my suspicions to be true, resulting in a dumped biatch. |

Nope. But if the other person suddenly becomes overprotective of it, that's a hint something's up. |

If you have to do it, then it's already too late.
To actually go in to their phone/chat logs etc means you're so suspicious that:
A) They have already given you good reason to think that someone else is driving the pigskin bus to her tuna town
or
B) You've got trust issues that are so deep seated it's going to become too much of problem to sustain the relationship anyway.
The only thing I will say is that if there are behavioral changes in your SO that would compel you to go through their messages, then there's much easier ways of finding out what the deal is. |
