im just bored on nightshift and looking at Apollo interfaces :D
just a question about the in/outs on this Apollo, looks like they go through some sort of D type connector, see pic in this link
http://www.uaudio.com/interfaces/apollo-16.html
anybody here got an interface with this setup?
theres also an Apollo 16 which seems to have the more typical connections on the back, same as my UFX - but this is more expensive
confusion! :o |

My ensemble has the same thing. You'll need a D-Sub 25 cable to XLR out or back to D-Sub 25.

Juan is right, but just be careful to make sure you get the right pin out of you're making or having the cables made. Sadly, there's several different wiring standards and sometimes they can be completely proprietary.
TBH, I actually prefer multipin breakouts on kit like this; it really doesn't make much sense on larger I/O interfaces to have all those TRS or XLR sockets on the interface itself. Chances are you're going to be using a patch bay anyway and that's really where patching should be done, not on the interface. |

thanks chaps! its all moot anyway as i was looking at the wrong Apollo - that one doesnt have headphone outs and is aimed more at further expansion i think - the one i need is the standard Apollo, which has the direct 1/4in jacks like the UFX
Should i go with the thunderbolt option if i decide to change? My PC doesnt have TB
Anyways - this will only happen if i get an acceptable price for the UFX and also if im able to sell my uad cards :o |
