| Might as well have a thread for it like every year? Usually I have some sort of list by now but this year I don't even know what came out this year. I've been spending most of the year on dancefloors and working on my DJing so I haven't really kept up with albums that much. I'll take a look at other people's lists and try to come with something later. |

Okay, here's some of what I came up with after a bit of messing around:
Lawrence - A Day In The Life
This just came out recently and haven't seen it in any end-of-year lists. Very nice introspective ambient with typical melancholic Lawrence-flair.
Donato Dozzy/Nuel - Aquaplano Sessions & K
Technically both re-issues but who cares? Still some of the best deep techno/ambient of the past 5+ years. Been listening to these more than most new albums this year.
Steffi - Power Of Anonymity
Seems like this has gotten a rather lukewarm reception in the press because it's not edgy and inventive enough or something but it's just the right thing for the detroit nerds.
Neel - Phobos
Another Dozzy associate. Space ambient done just right, not too dark, not too light.
Ligovski - Dilip
More like a double EP, one with ambient originals and the other with techno remixes. Ditch the remixes and keep the ambient tracks, some of my favorite ambient this year. |

hood's 20 year m plant and dj set i caught this year, also started playing his tracks from previous years still fresh

chaim - blue shadow
kasper bjork - rush (bryjolfur, heygum remx)
for album; the one that comes to mind most is yagya sleepygirls.
big ups to hernan too, caught him 3x times year and he was on point each time
biggest disappointment was seeing villalobos play. |
