Well, for those who missed it (a lot of you), Fergie was ing wicked. His music was a lot like Marco V and Picotto, but it seemed like he was working more. Fergie is definitely on the rise to fame. He is only 22, and judging from last night he could be one of the best very soon.

Huge thanks to Itikia....we can't party without you.
Tatgirl, Swamper, Kevin, The Kid, Jeff, the rest...

Peace,

That was possibly one of the best sets I've heard this year.

Fergie is without any doubt one of the best djs out there, and he's only 22. I have never seen anyone work the mixer the way he did; all i have to say is WOW:eek:

Thanks for all the TA's that showed up!!!

Jon the Dentist is next and someone special on Nov 29....

Too bad more of you didn't come out last night.
When we first got there around 12:30, it was DEAD. I was really worried Fergie would be playing to an empty room. Ironically, that place filled up by 2am, so I guess Viva's regular crowd doesn't mind paying the high late cover charge. Fergie didn't go on til 2:45am tho, cuz they were trying to fix the club's lasers (which didn't happen), so OS/2 had a bit of an extended set. He played some great tunes. The vibe was a little weird last night, since TA's, and non-Asians in general, were at a minimum. There was a large empty gap between the DJ booth and the crowd (the were afraid to come close), so that's where me and my friends danced. Fergie could tell who his supporters were ;) . He started off a lot harder than I expected him to. I particularly liked the 2nd half of his set, and his last 5-6 tracks were all BXR tunes, or tracks that Mauro plays (including the new Taub "Megamind 2002"). Fergie signed my Dec.2000 copy of Mixmag (which he was on the cover of) for me. Big thanks to Itikia for the hook ups, and for letting us hang in the back room to chat with the Godskitchen rep. Didn't get to actually talk to Fergie when he was done, but he did pose for some pictures, and gave me a kiss on the cheek goodbye, which I thought was real sweet. :clown: On his way out of the club, he stopped and gave my friend Brian a hug- he was the only one he hugged. Brian had been dancing in front of him the whole night. Fergie is a class act. I'm not really sure if the crowd there appreciated his style- I really think they were confused about the hard pounding beats, and the lack of their beloved trance melodies.
Mark Oliver went on after Fergie, and OMG! It was Mark Oliver like I've never heard before!!!! :eyes: The complete opposite side of the spectrum from what he plays at the Guv!!!! Brian says he's heard Mark play like that a buncha times when he used to spin at parties, but I've only lived here for 3 yrs, and have only seen him at the Guv. He played some seriously mind-twisting tunes!!! I have a newfound respect for the man after last night.
Met a couple people last night who read TA, but don't post, so to all of you- it was nice meeting you- don't be a stranger. Jenna & Mike- sorry I didn't see you off when you left. Hope to see u around again.
only 10 hrs to go til the next party begins..... :nervous:

Actually that guy you were chatting with was the owner of Godskitchen.

Excellent set, no doubt. Yeah, I think many of the asians just didn't know what to think of his music. But near the end many of them were getting the hang of it and actually moving...

The OWNER?!!?! Whoa. Had a nice discussion with him- it's always good to hear what Europeans in the biz think of the North American scene, and get a better understanding of theirs.

I already put a plug in for Fergie on the Glow msg board for his visit to DC tonite. ;)

Itikia- I have some pics to send to you for the Viva site.

What an amazing night! Fergie definitely rocked the place. OS2 threw down some great classics too.

Nice seeing all you guys.

Had some interesting conversations and listened to some amazing tracks!

Stay tuned for the interview. (surprising it it came out crystal clear even with the cheezy mic and pounding bass in the background)

Cheers,

Kevin

You will be given credit for the picks that we use!!
