How fast another year has gone by. So much good times this past year, much love to everyone who shared some of these moments with me.

2014
Most memorable event: Hands down Movement 2014 with the whole crew

Best Set of the Year: Hernan Cattaneo b2b Guy J (I remember this night and the music as if it was yesterday...surprisingly :p)

Some parties to remember..
The influx in cityfox events.. 4th of July was a great time.

Guy Gerber themed nights at Marquee, loved every single one and realizing that Guy Gerber > (Insert DJ Here)

Interface Detroit & Cell Injection at Output...mind ed

Actually doing the whole 8hrs of Adam Beyer at Output

Marco Carola at Cipriani...just WOW!

2014 was a great year for me as well.

most memorable event: movement 2014.

the music and the vibe was just unbelievable. i remember turning round at interface party at one point and seeing all my friends there in that room. that was just a special experience, seb knows exactly what im talking about. seeing carola/digwed/hawtin that sunday night was insane. the transition and the music couldn't have been better. seeing names like jeff mills and lucy/speedy j in the basement was special as well. but the most important thing was our crew. we had an amazing time the moment we landed on the plane and to the moment we got back home. lets do it all over again next year all!

best set of the year? i have way too many so here is some of my favs.

interface @ detroit. that was unlike anything i have experienced for sure. and seeing sandwell district together after all those years? words cant explain how i was feeling at this point. and i had the one of the most honest conversation ever with drumcell after his set. he did say we will probably never see that happen again. and oscar mulero destoyed it at 7am and i left the works in smiles ;-)

elec deluxe @ detroit. dvs1 threw down one of most energetic sets i have heard. speedy j was no joke either ;)

hernan cattaneo @ stereo: one of the highlights of my life. that was a 8+ hour journey that i need to experience again at one of the best clubs in the world.

sigha @ output: one of my favorite techno sets of the year. it was refreshing and such a treat to see what he can do with just 2 decks and no fillers. one of the most promising names in techno right now and i feel him and shifted will take techno to another level.

robag @ output: those nights are always special for me. thank you for teasing with me with your remix of bad king dowm three times and have everyone go insane when you drop daft punk-around the world.

speedy j @ indigo, istanbul: he destroyed it with a 6+ hour set. was there from start to finish. makes me wish he does them at nyc more often (damn its always 2 hours)

moderat @ brooklyn: that was such a treat to see them live at the warehouse. my life was complete when i got to hear bad kingdom live and sing like i was in a metallica concert.

chris liebing @ output: another great one by chris liebing. plays techno like the way its supposed to be played and definitely took us on a journey then destroyed us by the time it was 1am. cant wait for his return..

push the night @ verboten: i've been to almost all of them and have to say each of them were unique and truly special. thanks to brad for putting together some of my favorite progressive names under one bill and please keep them coming. henry saiz live @ cielo was one of my favorite parties at cielo to this date. and that guy j b2b hernan cattaneo set was magical. and seeing henry saiz, gui boratto, and chymera right after was another favorite of mine. this is one of those parties that i almost never want to miss.

cityfox @ brooklyn: mano le tough and adriatique at enclave was a memorable experience for me. i have always known them to be more about house music but they got very dark that party and played some great techno. then seeing dj three, lee burridge and adriatique on july 4th was a totally different experience. it was warm, melodic and just perfect outdoor music that i did not want it to end (it was hard to leave that one). david august was studio one another memorable experience. and can't go wrong with solomun/adriatique last week as well.

adid @ brooklyn: i was happy to attend them all this year and i have to say its my favorite outdoor party at new york city. the music, sound, crowd and the overall vibe is always consistent.

other honorable mentions

marco carola @ marquee

paco osuna @ verboten

carl craig/matthew dear @ trade, miami

life and death @ grand central, miami

timewarp @ brooklyn

marcel dettman/anthony parasole/function @ output

I had a great year in 2014. Went to some shows. Met some new friends.
If I had to rank them though, it would be as follows

Kyau & Albert at Cielo - one of the best put together three hour trance/progressive sets I have heard. The flow was amazing and by the end of the night I was one of three people left on the dance floor.

John 00 Fleming at Sankeys - GAME CHANGER. Nobody does what that man did at Sankeys. From late 80's acid house to new Psy-trance and prepping three months for one set, this man is one of a kind. Plus I got to meet some of you TA's for one of the greatest nights in recent memory.

John Digweed at Verboten - I missed Digweed last year at Output and people consistently said that was the best party of 2013, so I knew I couldn't miss when he came around this year. And he didn't disappoint. You expect some of the DJ's to slow down as they age. Not Digweed. He gets better with age, like a fine wine.

Matt Bowdidge at Chrystie 141 (Mental Asylum Night) - my new favorite DJ of 2014 (besides Akira Kayosa) spun an incredible uplifting set at MA night. Jase Thirlwall was also amazing. And by the end of the night, all five DJ's were spinning up there; together.

Duke Dumont at Output - I went in not really knowing who Duke Dumont was but I came out with a better understanding of what deep house is all about. He knows how to put a set together, start to finish.

Other Notable shows:

Grum at Output - Grum was a big surprise for me. He kind of does it all. Techno, house, and trancey progressive. Also, Output was empty which made it all that much better.

Paul Van Dyk at Hammerstein Ballroom - It was good to see the legend himself again. I catch him at least once a year when he comes. Great set, especially some classics he threw in. Awful run venue though.

Kaskade (Redux) at Output - It was comforting to find out that Kaskade is pretty versatile as a DJ and can play and mix some good music other than crappy mainstream EDM.

type of show that the style is new for me: Schlang at Panther Room at Output. Very different . Maybe call that sound psy-dub.

Worst show/ Biggest disappointment of the year:
Markus Schulz and KhoMha at Webster Hall
&
Armin Van Buuren at Pier 94

All in all, had a great year and met some new friends.
/Looking to tone things down majorly in 2015.
//Except when J00F comes to Cielo next month

Nobody else is going to post their favorite shows from 2014? Really?

I know right...I created this same thread for 2013 and got 3 pages worth of replies.

maybe the new title update will help, if its not too late already
kingchinc
Solomun @ Stereo
Dixon @ timewarp

CarS
one show I have to put in front, no doubt:

Minilogue's farewell US show at Output.
That night was so damn good, I seriously considered driving up to Canada for the next night (their last show period), but after figuring my schedule 5-ways, just couldn't swing it. Too bad too!

others:
Resolute / BLK NYD at Output (really a 2014 event :) )
Oliver Koletzki / Sascha Braemer / Nicone at ZERO
Raresh / Praslea at Output
Appleblim, Magic Mountain High, Kangding Ray at the Wick
AME (both) 8h-set at Oval Space
Robert Hood at Output
Sven at Space
Rrose live at Bossa Nova
EZoo APs: Hernan at Verboten / AME at Panther Room
The whole Sustain-Release festival
--- ALL of you have to make the effort this year!
Giegling showcase at Bunker at TransPecos
Hyte I+IV in Berlin, Carl Cox, DeWalta, Sonja M.; Villalobos

I have some overlaps with what I read above, and of course I should list anything Droid-related, Ostgut-related, Silent Servant, Mr Liebing, but we're supposed to pick.
No ranking above btw, it's chronological by and large....
gimmebeatz
