| I like mixing on headphones, BUT I want to feel the track also, thing which the headphones ain't helping me to do. I find my self going back in forth between the headphones and a y 2.1 multimedia system when I am tinkering on a kick. That's one of the reasons I want to purchase finally some monitors :D |

if you are happy with your headphones id have a look at that Subpac thing, seems to be getting good reviews, allows you to feel the subbass in your track |

I've watched a few videos on these now and peoples reactions are quite positive. I'm still sceptical about the whole concept though in terms of music production and how it will be of any use. |

There is not much of difference between Yamaha's HS80 or JBL305 5" in frequency range -> HS80 go down to 42Hz and JBL to 43Hz so you would be really surprise how JBL handle low end :) - I'm pretty happy.

There is a lot of discussions on gearslutz site about HS80/8 and JBL's 8"/5" - one of them you can read here (interesting as he spend some amount of time investigate small differences between some of those speakers):

| I have the Yamaha HS80Ms and I'd recommend them, although I haven't really compared them to anything else since I bought them many years ago. I think that they have plenty of bass for most people (maybe too much for a small room), but I also have the matching subwoofer. My studio has almost no low end (probably because of all the furniture, carpet, etc), so I really need the sub to help compensate, but I have it connected to my monitor controller and can easily bypass to A/B with and without. |

| Found on discount a pair of events 20/20 on a stores webpage (demo pair). The jew inside me screams to buy them. Does the front ported bass reflex help in a room the size of mine or will make no difference? |

Check gearslutz site as there was one comment directly compere HS8-JBL-20/20 so you could have a better idea about any significant difference between them - of course this is only from reviewer perspective and his listening experience.
I may include this shortcut if I find it.

yeah have seen good reviews of the HS80M. Speaking from experience i would try and get decent monitors right now as you will only be upgrading in the future anyway |

It was my prefer set of speakers but size of my room was the deciding factor which force me to move them to a larger room and switch them with JBL's 305 for more accurate response.
