anyone watched any of these? I think hes famous enough in mixing circles, ive watched a few of them, seems to use parallel processing quite a bit

Yes I've got a bit from these over time.

SUB - do you guys generally to a dedicated sub track that underpins the bass as was often the way it was done in the past, or just generally do you use a bass sound which contains sub frequencies?

I sometimes find myself getting way too bogged down in trying to do everything in minute detail, such as a dedicated sub track but this causes me to loose the spirit and enthusiasm I might have had if I'd got it all laid down quicker and easier.

I used to watch his show every week but not seen it in a while.. As for into the lair.. Hmm can't say I've ever seen anything useful in them or would apply effectively to the music I make.

Yeah I have a dedicated sub in mono to go with my bass. I always layer them together.

maybe sometimes if theres not enough sub on the kick or i just want more control over the sub i will use a seperate sub track
