Ok I will prolly be the only one to say he listed some great stuff there from back then.
But on the other side, teaching me or anyone else a lesson, I don't think so, at least not for me.
I've also been listening to elektronica around that time, so I know where u are.
Don't come with threads like this, the only thing it is good for is to make people flame u (I think u need a lesson instead of us) |

| I mean come on you haven't even heard most of these tracks but then you flame me for not liking Pvd or the style of trance these days. |

well i can understand for some that grew listening to them, but to me if these guys never hit the seen, trance would still be trance as in hipnotic.. not builds and cheezy stabs lines for all the E peeps |
true...
but it's not a bad thing though, music spun by them has a large partyeffect. More easier to listen to then the underground sounds of before and like the progressive now.
Just let them do, if they like the music it's good for them, I liked it too but I grew over it and think now the same as you, I would also say they destroyed it, but if I look back to them, they made trance big no matter what u say |

Ok tranceseeker, So are you telling me that the trance today is good? It shouldn't even be called trance anymore.
Trance = A hypnotic, cataleptic, or ecstatic state. Give me a track that can put me in that state that has been made between 98-2002 and i will bow down to PVD and others. This was before i just seen your post hehe, you on the same level as me. |

well after listening to the prophet (the only one i've got handy), I can say there's definately some builds in that one......
Most of the tracks (if not all) you mentioned are from europe, where the "rave" scene was extremely popular (well before 92 when your holiness started to listen to it), and I'm pretty sure people took E at raves then... so it's not like it's a new thing..... but then again how many raves have you actually been to :stongue: |
None yet, mummy won't let him :thepirate

I don't like PVD either, but anyway, don't criticise on people because they have a different view on their music.
It's the same as a thunderdomefreak says to u
"Man those tracks are the worst cheese I've ever heard"
And so it is with every different kind of music.
I don't like the cheesy stuff anymore either but I got respect for them because I know they look different on "their" music then I do. |

There is always tracks that stand out from different years in dance music. I listened to kraftwerk and tangerine dream when i was 9 years old, but these were the first real trance i ever heard from dj x-ray vs binman - battle of the techno gods. my first dj tape ever way back in 93/94. tracks they played:
jones and stephenson - the first rebirth
elevator - shinny
marmion - schoonenberg
Return of the living acid - the big dipper
mega lo mania - emaotion
li kwan - point zero
sourmash - pilgermige to paradise
sunbeam - outside world
dj tim vs misjah - access
Jens - Loops & Tings (Fruit Loops Mix)
Omniglobe - C'mon Yo
Robert Armani - Circus Bells (Hardfloor Remix)
Humate - Love Stimulation
(just put the last one in cause i know some person will say something) |

Yeah trance is a hypnotic, etc...To get that feeling I listen to progressive, there's nothing better then a journey through progressive music, look in my sig, its the attitude...
Trance nowadays if more focussed on the partydegree.
But who cares, if a tune is good then its good.
BTW tracks from 98-2002
Universal Nation, xpander, heaven scent.
I bet u go crazy if u hear them on a party |

Li Kwan - Point Zero one of the few tunes from back in the day that can still hold it's own in a set...... it's beautiful, Matt Darey at his best...
