I only use presets for texture pads and some melodies here and there, my 02..

"I only use presets when I feel like it."

Not that it matters. There is nothing wrong with using presets. There is nothing extra-right about not using them.

The end result is what matters, not the route you took to get there. Does the end result sound the way you want it to? Then good.

Im at the point where if someone made the best song in the world with vengeance loops I would respect it.

I think the music should always speak for itself. If you have a unique process that is different than others it will show. If you do the exact same thing to make the same sounds as common presets, it means jack if you didn't use a preset or not because the end result is the same.

There is nothing wrong with using a loop if it works for a song. I personally find loops can be a nice starting point for a song that I come in and replace later. I feel like being tempo / key locked isn't a tradeoff I am personally ok with for my music so they won't make it into the final product ever.

Juan, what I am saying is it doesn't make you a bad person if you used a loop. Anyone who says that has some serious confidence problems / a stick up their ass. Just my two cents :)

Yeah I def agree about the content should show for itself an all but I haven't made a wip yet now that I re calibrated my monitors and now back apple logic instead of windows. So Ima try to put something different instead.

What I don't like in the OP, is that it someway implies your* music is relevant :D
As if
1. you actually have listeners
2. These bothered to contact you
3. And are fully educated on all the latest and greatest preset packs

The whole topic is just laughable pittyful attention whoring...

GROW UP!

I use presets. I love using presets. They're usually better than what I can make. Therefore I use them.

Did you know that sandstorm was made using a preset on the JP8080?

Yeahhhh. Don't let people tell you what sound you can and can't use.
