Made it out to the last night with Lauren solely to see Mark but got there early enough to catch most of the Mau5's set. Stayed out of the mainroom portion till about 4:30am as it was probably the craziest I've ever seen it. With the wall opened up leading to Chroma it seemed like there was an endless line of people everywhere at the same time...aaaaah!

Anyways Mark was simply put "perfect". He could do no wrong anyways in our eyes but I really thought it was a great set. Hard and nostalgic with quite possibly the best ending that club could have asked for.

As for Deadmau5....I really was hoping he would deliver as I've been one of those who have not liked his direction the last few years. He certainly had his clever moments ripping on the popular nature of "EDM" and I was glad the set wasn't all bangers and electro nonsense however I did think that there was simply no flow to his music whatsoever. I would find myself getting excited as he would go on a 10 to 15 minute period of solid music and then it would just go into another lull....very disappointing. up..down..up...down....meh

Will miss this place but I strongly believe all good things must end for them to be good. Nothing will ever replace the Guvernment in our eyes but we are also in a different place in our lives and it takes time and investment to grow such an attachment as I'm sure we can all attest to this. I look forward to seeing what direction Ink takes with the SOund Academy and what direction this beautiful city takes with our music and scene over the next few years.

If I go down, can I grab a piece?
kotsy
I really doubt it but I'm going to go check in a hour or so anyways lol
kotsy
Yeah, the ones on the ground are gone. All that is left is the guvernment letters on the south side (minus the m lol)
