Haha exactly. From a technology standpoint that's ancient history compared to today. That's what I meant.

Amazing last transition into Xpander, especially when you consider how much more limited the technology was back then.
...and the case in point is that technology has done nothing to increase the quality.
I think anyone suggesting 96 isn't oldshool is talking bollocks. That was still really still the first generation of clubbers and DJ's (well apart from Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vega etc and co but that was the infancy).
2002, lol not quite. That was when the previous generation ejected out of toy town. Sure is was 13 years ago (gulp) but most EDM had been through a full cycle by then. I mean, , we already had that embarrassing little chapter called Dubstep by then.

And I meant that 2002 and ancient technology don't match.
It's still to early to call e.g. the cd players of that time ancient. They even used Ableton or Cubase in 2002 for producing.
Compared to mid 90's the difference is a lot bigger. But vinyl still is being used, although it's old technology.

Can someone explain what is so amazing about that transition that makes it so hard to do on the ancient technology of a pair of turntables and a mixer? It's not like he's doing the mash-up live.

yeah nothing. it actually seems like a pretty boring fade out into a new song.

I would've loved to have gone to a Love Parade event, back in its prime. I went to Berlin for the first time last March and went to the top of the Victory Column and got a sense of just how massive and amazing that event must have been.
