Porter Robinson has been considered to be the credited artist of a "masterpiece" or legendary album named "Worlds." This album was released some time last year and apparently many people are raving about it. To all newer EDM fans, this sounds like god's creation to them. For the new and inexperienced this probably is a good one.
Was wondering what you guys thought about it. I think it's quite unique in the way that it reminds of of American style indie alternative rock, mixed with some sort of film music scoring style atmosphere, mixed with lots of euphoric beats.
So, try listening to it. Would you consider this a masterpiece?
Trance-M
I don't even like it, so masterpiece is not the word that comes up quickly.
Using annoying Atari sounds makes me remember how annoying the were back then, and to be clear back then is like 30 years ago.
But for young people it probably sounds like something they never heard before, so I can imagine why they think it's cool.
Dj Pluviose
I personally wouldn't consider it a masterpiece either. Um, slightly decent? Maybe. But not a masterpiece.

First two tracks sound pretty nice to me. Not seeing the "film score atmosphere" really, sounds like the better half of the "alternative electronica" stuff that is always playing on my wife's XM radio.
I like it but I wouldn't place it in "masterpiece" territory.
Sykonee
For a generation used to Avicci and Hardwell anthems, this probably sounds like Leftism or ESCM. Hey, at least someone of the new crop of producers is making a go for more than mindless drivel.
Jeni
I can still hear his Dance Dance Revolution influence in this, but for the generation of Avicii and Hardwell, this is atmospheric.
junkproject
Differently a piece of something, but not masterpiece. .
sumergible
