Had all these sampling laws been in place earlier, these guys would have been billionaires...the drummer actually ended up dieing homeless. It's pretty crazy how a few seconds became the backbone for so many genres.

| It's not really the "backbone" for any genres. Breakbeat culture wasn't founded on any individual sample. There is a whole list of iconic breaks, the process has always been more important than the particular sample. It is, however, pretty much the most iconic and frequently used sample in all electronic music, from hip-hop to hardcore to jungle to IDM and beyond. |
