Check out B@H
Reference monitor for vieo guys most likely.
I use one of my iPads hooked up to an apogee duet as a similar meter/ visual device.
That way it will never change windows as it isn't connected to the os running. |

Ahh a reference monitor is exactly what it is! :)

You could get by with an iPad 3 and an interface for about 100$. So about 300 in all.
I also use the iPad as a midi/osc input and I use certain synths on it I can't get natively ie the reason Thor synth. And with audiobus, you can treat each iPad as its own instrument. |

Cheers for posting that Eric. I've been thinking about getting something like this. I was going to use my ipad but there's times I just want the disaply to be a desktop extension so I can just pop whatever plugin I want in to it.
The other thing I want it for is to use the small screen for is for the DJ setup - it's a way to delude myself that I;m not using a DVS. |

i too was looking for a solution like this for a serato DVS setup...
would it be possible to display windows on a small tablet with touchscreen function intact? |

I don't see why not?
Also, I'm wondering if a small tablet could handle serato, because if so, I'd no longer be looking at a monitor but a host computer essentially, that could run both the program and let me plug in the interface for traktor/serato.
There are however little USB power monitor screens. I've seen 7" ones on amazon for about $100, and may still want to get one just for a spectrum or dedicated plugin window.
Does anyone know if you can tell Logic to open up plugins in a set place each time? Is it last known configuration or random? |
