Stanton SMX-501?

Have you guys heard anything about this mixer, or better yet has anyone had the opportunity to tinker with one?

I'm in the market for a new mixer, and really don't see the point in a huge flashy 4 channel such as the djm600, nor do I really think I need a 3 channel (even though this one is). I'll never have more than 2 turntables, and I think the ability to both scratch as well as mix trance is equally important.

What do you guys think? I have a terrible stanton mixer now, but it seems to be well built.

Looks like a decent mixer, but so is the DJM-600 so don't hate on multiple channel mixers.

well to be honest, stanton doesnt make a whole lot of good products.

i'm reading over the specs on this one and i was very supprised to see a pennes & giles crossfader. those are very nice! conduction plastic, good feel, lasts a long time. even has curve adjust.

doesnt seem like a bad mixer. build quality is going to be your major concern, and how the EQ's sound.

I'd go try one before you buy it..

another way i see it.. I found this box for $385 online, not including shipping. I think I would be more inclined to go with a vestax 275 or DJM300 for that sort of money. I guess with the P&G fader, and curve control, $385 isnt that bad... but the rest of the box could be mediocre.

we all like that mixer shock :P

Damn, the vmx looks really sweet, havent seen or heard anything about it, but from the specs it looks like stanton is tyring to compete with the 275.

I think it looks sekzerier then the 275 also :P

i think it's more trying to take on the djm 600 and allen and heath
putting higher quality stuff
and the price tag is like 1700

That mixer is the one that Tiesto used in Dutch Dimension 2002.
