I've tried a few times now with this style of house, hoping I'd catch an ear for it since there's so much of it being released these days, and so many people yammering on about it on discogs. Even the best Theo Parrish/LIES-type releases dont have any replay value for me unfortunately. I find the sounds used in this style of house utterly abrasive, ploddy, and unlistenable.
Curious to see what everyone will be charting once this fad dies off.
^^ That's as close as I'm willing to get to that style at this point.

Same, I'm not au fait with the term, though if it's Theo Parrish style house then I have to agree. I've tried on a number of occasions to understand it to no avail.
Wasn't it you spruiking some Kassem Mosse track the other day? Is he not considered 'lo-fi' house?

Workshop/LIES are amazing labels. True house music, reminds me of the raw underground nature of early Chicago house in its inception.

I can't imagine a venue or circumstance where I'd play a Theo Parrish production. Maybe in a basement? I'm stretching it there. Dont get me wrong, I own probably 5 of his records but I have no idea what to do with them, and no desire to share them with other people's ears. Theo is the originator and inspiration of the LIES sound in my opinion.

This is a really good example because it is charted as number 1 on the Juno house section and it has all of the low-fi attributes that I'm describing in my initial post. I can't imagine being high enough to where I would stay on the dancefloor for this.
