OK, so I'm the one who left a glass of water on the nightstand near where my Macbook was sitting, but he's the one that knocked it over.
UGH!!!
Luckily, I backed up all of my writing and pictures last week, but I can't say the same for my music.
Anyways, if drying it out doesn't work, I'm curious about what kind of computers (specifically laptops) you guys are using. Although I've used an Apple for the past five years, I'm not against going back to Windows. In fact, the new Macbooks don't impress me one bit. There's a sale on the Air right now, but I don't know whether to pull the trigger.
I've thought about a Chromebook, too, but I think I need more function than it offers. Does anyone have one?
Help a brother pick a new computer! :) |
Hmmmmmm..... owns a cat and an Apple computer. Yeap, hehe. |

My old Compal HEL80 just refused to die. |

Still don't know what I'm going to do; get another cheapy at around $500 and know I'll have to replace on three years, or pony up and buy something expensive and see if it lasts longer.
The zenbooks aren't cheap though - the entry levels ones are still nearly a grand :nervous: |

| I need to get another one, actually. My battered Samsung is coming up to five years old and it's high time I took it out behind the sheds and put a sympathetic bullet between its ears. |

| 5 years out of a laptop is a damn good innings. I wish I'd got that out of any of the 4 I've owned over the last 12 years :( |

I swore off Chink pads, but they actually hooked me up with a Lenovo ThinkPad T440s 8gb ram, a bunch of added goodies ( externals (sound card/hd), a premium software package and free extended warranty for having sold me 2 lemons.
This dude is a beast. Super quick, and the battery life is unreal. The sound is a bit ty, but I don't use laptop speakers either way.
Chink pad name sticks because i like it, but I really like this computer. |

Superfish is an awesome software package :)
I bought two Thinkpads at work, but I find it difficult to get used to the touch-pad without separate buttons. But they were better priced than HP and battery life indeed is very good. |

no superfish. I wasn't born yesterday.
The software package was basically me asking for what I wanted for free.
There is no customer service in Asia, they are cheap and lazy s; so I feel like I won.
I got 400 bucks worth of upgrades. I'm not complaining.
I use a mouse always. I like to masturbate from a distance. The touchpad design is . The speed is of the machine is not. |

I could probably keep it going for longer with another reformat but the springs of the LMB are absolutely knackered now. |

Argh, that's exactly what I'm going through right now. I could probably squeeze another year from laptop with a fresh format but it's so battered now, I should probably do the humane thing.
What are the LMB? |
