sometimes i feel like i am the only who appreicates this type of stuff, as i never really hear it acknowledged much by anyone.

Dj tonka

this guy remixed everybody from salt-n-peppa to bootsy collins with his 90's happy piano driven sound.

this is one of my personal favorites

oh and he's still making music, i bought this one a few days ago

No idea what your definition of a "hipster" is, but I'm pretty sure people just got sick of this type of house altogether around the turn of the millenium. Dragging your old disco records through a bunch of filters and throwing a kickdrum under it, which was Tonka's bread and butter at the time, can only last you so long. I mean, come on now:

I went to see Slow to Speak a few weeks ago, they're the guys who run the Dope Jams record store.. they played a bunch of this stuff. It's fun music that wipes a smile on everyone's face, and when you got the right crowd the vibe of the party is always great.

I love hearing this kind of house during regular club hours, and outdoor parties with the sun shining.. good vibes.

One of my favorite Tonka songs. As some one said earlier, this is good outdoor beach music . Just go happy stuff, dont know how I would feel about this at the club though.

sounds like stuff they play at shoe stores.
