Suck some dick and make things happen if you don't like it.

It's fine. It's just evidence that some people dislike the gender imbalance so much that it heavily affects their hiring practices.

Insecure people who can't be happy for anyone else's success are the worst.

Often after a few months this turns out to be a pro.

And software engineer means learning forever.

Mostly true but ting where you eat is not recommended -- if you're after hot chicks there are other avenues besides work. Also, the ratio in working IT is no worse than your typical diehard Trance/Techno event anyways :stongue:

i wouldn't want to be working with hot chicks, chances are either i'm busting my ass and trying my damned hardest to not be distracted or she's dumb as a door knob and i'm busting my ass anyways

i'd rather just not have the distraction, work with someone that isn't hot that is knocking out the park on my team, than someone who potentially will be a distraction and with my guap

after all, cash rules everything around me

When I got my BFA women out numbered us but I'm of the same opinion as Del. I don't date ppl I have to see every day on a professional level whether at class or work. If you need to be surrounded by sausages to concentrate then you're a loser.

I don't really think I want to be working with them, no, because I don't think my work ethic will be as good with them as it is without them. But I'd like to be able to ogle them strutting around the department, or in the cafeteria :)

I don't go to trance/techno parties anymore, mostly disco and deephouse parties. And let me tell you.. hot girls are the rule

Mysoginists, all of you, treating women like things.

Listen to me, In the land of software engineers I am one of the Kings and most of you are peasants. I'm in Silicon Valley. Shut the up and listen to me, plebs:

Women have the power to change the world in greater ways than men do. Women, hot or not, have a right to work in hard technical positions. I cannot wait to see a woman run this country, much to the chagrin of the so called software engineers.

See the problem with this situation igk aka "every post i make is naive" is that she seriously has no idea. When I asked her why she got the job she said it was because of skill. She's gonna be pretty upset when she eventually realises. The whole situation is a bit depressing for that reason.

It's cliche but true, life isn't fair, no amount of hand ringing is going to change that. Best policy is to be concerned with yourself instead of comparing yourself with others. Here's your first lesson, skill alone rarely gets you the job.

Although if you're lucky, chances are you're going to work for a company that has nice chicks at the HR or Marketing department.

Still, most of the time it's an absolute cockfest.

I'm a Business Intelligence consultant (but mostly developer) by the way.

yup. i work in IT as a support engineer fixing networks and servers.

i dont think ive ever seen a chick working in a datacenter or near IT. unless it was sales.
