First post in a while, what do you think of this track I'm working on?

Let me know your thoughts. Extracted a lot of .WAV files from Blizzard's StarCraft in an attempt to obtain a lossless copy of the game soundtrack, which for some reason can't be found elsewhere. Unfortunately all of the files were Mono 22KHz, but got some cool samples out of it. Decided to make a track around some of them.
This is merely the foundation. Might replace the whole "Nuclear Launch" with something more appropriate to the feel of the track - unless you guys think it should stay. Going to add a lot more to the drums - a good portion consists of sound effects / samples tweaked from the obtained game .WAV files.
Just threw on some track automation quickly for demo purposes, that part was rushed. Was going for an old trance feel.
I must admit, when I added the piano bit in - I was going for a similar feel as this Armin van Buuren & Airwave track - Sunspot , and I inadvertently ended up with an identical pattern. Going to try and phase it out for something that accomplishes the same atmosphere, while being a bit more original. |
