This was the biggest gig I ever played I think. I was warming up for Airwave, followed by Alex Di Stefano, John 00 Fleming, Ace Ventura and Nick Sentience at the amazing KoKo (previously known as Camden Palace)
Here's the link and track list
https://soundcloud.com/dj-jon-cockl...rantic-05-04-15

| Oh man that sounds like an epic evening. In! |

I had a listen and I loved the deep grooves. Indeed very warm and comforting. Like slipping into an old pair of sneakers or plopping down onto your favorite couch.
I must say I didn't care for the track Moshic – Makara. With a set that is so structured, I can understand the reasoning for using it where you did. The driving beat and the tech-trance feel and all. Also to break up the more rigid structure of the mix a little bit with the off-beat windchimey sound, but it just drove me crazy to be honest.
Didn't enjoy that track but the rest of it was mint. Good stuff mate, I'm sure the rest of the night was amazing. Any stories from the evening or set links? :) |

Thanks very much for listening mate! On the whole, I'm fairly happy with it listening back but I really wish that breakdown in Ascension was a bit shorted. Love the nostalgic feel it gives me but it does go on too long.
What was it you hated about Makara? I really love that tune. The idea on the night was to keep the twinkly melody from deepfunk going but add a bit more evergy with the bassline etc. I personally love the complex melody and vocal sample but I guess its a bit weird so can see why you might not like it.
it was a really good might, Airwave played melodic like me but more pumping and epic, with some of his new tunes plus a great new breaks mix of Enjoy The Silence. Everyone else absolutely twatted it out, hard as nails. Was by far the hardest I've heard John play in years, was reminiscent of his sets from circa 2007 |

This was the set of the night for me, created the proper vibe in that room. As I said to you on the night, walking down that tunnel into the main spoace when candyland was playing wasa proper hair on end moment.
Top work mate |

Definitely the hightlight for me as well, though hearing Brainbug - Nightmare was pretty wicked as well. Thought you did an excellent job of setting stuff up, with some of the best warm prog I've probably ever heard in person. Wish I could get to your next Indigo Void event!
Was really great to see you, Jon, and nice to meet you, Dave! I've got a few decent and a lot of bad photos from you playing, Jon, if you'd like me to share the decent ones I can send them your way :) |
