Well Donnie, no one asked you to step into a business model like this. I don't think the promoter keeping all the proceeds from the door and presale tickets is a deal if you don't have to pay a venue rental or bar guarantee. I'm happy to hear your business model. |
Times are changing and how you do parties at venues should change as well. I don't like seeing promoters get yanked around by venues that's why I was asking by you taking all the rest and I presume are putting up the money for the booking fee, ground, hotel and travel you should be collecting more. |

Donnie, I'd love to hear what are you suggesting? You haven't made it clear where we should be collecting more revenue from. The owner gives a small % of the bar sales to the DJ's. He also takes care of the rider and has taken care of dinner in the past (He's a great sushi chef by the way). I have connections with artists, booking agencies, an awesome hotel, and extra sound, so I'm using "hookups" where I can so that I can keep the costs down. I'd like to add a few sponsors but haven't put enough effort into making that happen yet.
These shows are put on as a source of Trance entertainment for our friends. We are not relying on them to survive. They add a date to the calendar and open up a lot of doors by allowing us to network with the different artists, agencies, and promoters in different parts of the world. |
