Moving to Scotland

I'll be heading to Scotland for my job for the next two years. Besides the obvious parties like Awakenings and TimeWarp. Any other good ones I should be aware of that are now much easier for me to access?

I'll be living in Edinburgh so I'm also excited to check out what's around in the UK. I was thinking of checking out Creamfields since I'm leaving in August and it's right at the end of the month.

EasyJet and RyanAir are your best friends:
Berlin is not far away.

Festis:
next to noonstar's, theres SonneMondSterne, Melt!, NatureOne, the big Trance festival outside of Krakow (forget the name) just to drop a couple.
Plus, look at Exit, Dimensions and its sibling festi, any of those cool croation/ yugoslavian festis
If yoyr over there in December: Berlin on new years lol.

dont forget to post your first (?) berghain review...

Thanks for the tips guys! Definitely time to do research on those mentioned.

Cars, I wasn't even going to try Berghain. I heard it's impossible to get in and that the line is upwards of 2 hours usually.

Diablo was just there not long ago, maybe he can provide some more input.

But, here's one important point:
The Sat party goes for about 30h.
A lot of what you hear is cert. true early Sunday morning, maybe even from late Saturday night.

But, if you show up much later, say 8-11 am, and so on, things are often much less of a problem.

And they do publish set-times for those.

Fridays not sure, but prob. similar.

Not saying that applies to a rager like that Innvervision's event Diablo went to, but ...

And, virtually every weekend, there's so much else going in in great places (Watergate, Tresor, Arena Club just to name some), that it's no problem going by BH, seeing what's going on, and if bad, go elsewhere.

Was at Hyte Day 4 nn 1/1-2.
I really wanted to go see Norman Nodge's 7-11am set at Berghain on 1/2.
The line at about 8-9 was not horrible at all (I'm told from some people that went around then).
Was just too dead from Villalobos, plus had to catch a train, so never made it.
Pointing this out just because it illustrates this a bit.

BTW: Nodge goes to the UK every so often, look out for him, amazing!
And if you ever see him doing a really long slot at BH, just go for it.

(When Dettmann was at Output recently, I got a chance to tell him it's about time he packed Norman along for one of these Ostgut visits, and he was like, hm, good idea, lol)
