Dithering comes to mind as a possible way to add some noise.
Looney4Clooney
probably just artifacts from the mixing. Don't really get why you are stumped. At 60hz hum and there you go. Or filter some noise. This is like adding vinyl crackles to a digital file or buying pre ripped jeans.

I couldn't believe you'd provide such boring and predictable answer!

Come on man, wake up!

All the time that same video. Just staring and watching at you! Ok, you could explain part of it with the amount of japanese pedophiles, but the rest is hypnosis! Can you hear it? Do you hear that 1/16 note running in the background? That's it! Now we should find the frequency. If we discover it we might reveal the secret of hypnosis. Just imagine that girl staring without any background noise. Just mute the video for a sec...our brain gets tired immediately and we wanna switch...but with that background noise you just keep watching expecting something to happen while subconsciously you're being hypnotized by the noise.

I am so sad I had to break it to you...thought your sensitivity and perception was above the average, but maybe I was wrong...or maybe not...maybe you're just coming like someone bored trying to divert people's attention from the main point and topic. You're simply average or you're playing the fox now...
Looney4Clooney
or you could have a product that didn't require such diversions from realizing there is nothing there. I saw a video with sync errors. Bounce your down to mono lofi mp3 and then run a chain of harmonic saturation plugins or what ever the you feel the track needs.

You asked a really ing boring predictable question, you got a boring predictable asnwer that describes the noise which is all you are hearing. Thats it. I really don't see anything of actual value added. I think perhaps you have perhaps a very rudimentary understanding of music and your appreciation was undermined by my rather unenthusiastic response to a question I would consider kinda dumb. What is that noise in the background. Noise ? How do i do it ? dde noise ? It really isn't that hard but as far as why you would want to ....

I'm getting noise recording voice into a 58>H4N>Macbook which I really don't want right now.

Want some?

For me that noise is magical Clooney. I fall in trance with it. I could listen to that noise for an hour without getting bored. It is not silence, is ambience that stimulates our senses, that captures our attention and keeps us focused.
I expected you to be able to decipher all this but you clearly cannot. Damn, you can't even feel, perceive what I feel. You're almost emotively dead. You're senses are not awake and they can't respond, react or interact with the ambience around us.
To reduce that noise to a simple white noise deludes me so much and kinda makes me feel special.
It's not a simple white noise, it's more like a pink noise but with musical harmonics. It is not static, although it might appear as such to the unenlightened.

A better example should be this

Try to think just for a second about this track without that background noise. It'd be unnatural, it'd cause anxiety and desperation. We're not programmed for silence. We'd feel lost.
Looney4Clooney
That would be the artifacts from a degraded vinyl being transferred to digital medium. lol. You aren't ever hearing silence. Your argument has no legs. Silence is one of the most effective tools because it is unnatural. Use things when they are appropriate. A healthy noise floor is ok for voice and talk radio but in a synthetic music genre, it isn't really necessary or. In the examples provided, intended.

You are the third member in a few months that has lost their ing sanity.
TranceElevation
No buddy, you're the one losing it. You're clearly getting older. That noise is magical and stays at the core of hypnosis.

edit: I recall RANN to bring some order in here.
Looney4Clooney
Isolated tribes find the tape re order magical so much so that th person playing the recording had to show a mirror because the individual recorded was about to pummel the guy thinking he had stolen his tongue,

To you it is magic because you don't understand it.

TranceElevation
I will found out.

But you can't even feel it. Guess who's in the worst position.

Not necessary, no, but the problem with perfection is that it's sometimes too perfect. Noise and other imperfections can make things feel more organic.
