Nah.

I'm just reluctant to add randoms who don't introduce themselves. How rude!

I agree. I don't really have any people unknown to me in real life, except some very, very old gaming-friends from back in the days. It's weird having strangers see your ties to different people et cetera.

My rule of thumb is that I need to have a distinct memory of a good experience with that person, so 95% of my friends are people I've met in person and actually socialised with. I won't just add random people I've had a class with in High School or something like that.

Why does everyone I went to high school with wants to be friends now?

It's not like I don't like them or they're jerks. I vaguely know we went to school together but we're never close or hung out. Over the years I've built up a big list of friend requests I've never replied to and I can't help but think I'm a bit of jerk.

It's hard to respect my coworkers when I specifically say "I don't add people from work to Facebook" and then I get a friend request from them.

I recently completed a music video for nurse appreciation for a local hospital. I was surprised by all the departmental in fighting. Glad I don't work for a big org/company.
