this thread was actually inspired by a AMA type thing on the guardian today. but i also caught him recently in a fantastic dance music doc that i recommend, that was on channel 4 years ago. so... dual purpose thread.
are you even familiar with him as a legitimate artist, outwith his pop culture identity? he is in movies and now, but he was a pioneer of sorts back in the day.
he seems interesting and enthusiastic, but i haven't yet heard any of his stuff (or maybe i have!) i am going to listen of his 22-minute epic that he sandbagged derrick carter into listen to in a car (i think it was derrick carter... forgot already!)
tongy supposedly snapped him up after hearing it.

It was Derrick May, who's pretty comparable to Goldie - they both made a couple of extremely influential tunes about a million years ago and have mostly focused on DJing and running labels since then. Inner City Life could easily claim to be the Strings Of Life of drum and bass.
I should probably dig out Timeless again - haven't played that album for years.
