i just got a Subaru BRZ and love the hell out of it, it's alot of fun. i'm hoping to add another 40-50hp to it over time with some bolt-ons and a tune but need to keep it naturally aspirated. it's my daily driver that sees 45 miles per day roundtrip to work, the drive home is always sitting in stopped traffic cuz i live near downtown and work outside the perimeter. i'd love to do a supercharger or turbo but since it's my daily driver, i'm going to stay away from forced induction plus i can't afford it anyway.
that's ok though, this car is a blast as-is. i'm sure it'll be even better with a little more hp to the wheels

I don't understand half of what u just wrote, but seems like a nice little car to zip around some tight curves.
Ps
sorry about the Hawks. |

I'm from Cleveland, I couldn't be happier! I've been living in Atlanta for a while now but I'm Cleveland born and raised, I have my Cavs jersey on right now. The Cavs aren't playing very well tonight but I think they'll make it to the Finals. |

thanks man. good eye, it pretty much is the same car as the scion fr-s. toyota and subaru made the car in a joint project. overseas the scion fr-s is actually the toyota gt86 which makes things a little more confusing. the subaru brz's are more rare because there's less of them made but it's the same as the fr-s except with a higher trim level and tiny little differences. |

No reason to get rid of that. I'm happy with my 2013 WRX. I have a company car that I put the majority of miles on so my wrx only comes out occasionally from the garage for fun :toocool: |

rubez nailed it, it's different because it's a joint-venture with Toyota. Subaru makes all-wheel drive cars and if i remember correctly, Subaru hasn't made a rear-wheel drive car in 40 years or something like that.
Toyota wanted to make a car where they focus on the chassis and try to get 50/50 weight distribution in a rear-wheel drive car. the result is that when you turn traction control off, the car is incredibly easy to hold a slide. it's the most manageable and fun oversteer of any car i've driven. then when you turn traction control back on, it just stays glued to the road without worry of kicking the rear end out.
To pull this off, Toyota wanted a boxer engine (Subaru's specialty) so they had to sort of talk Subaru into the idea. Boxer engines fire their pistons horizontally, which means the engines tend to be wider and flatter than other conventional engines. This is why Toyota wanted a boxer, to mount it very low to the ground for a very low center of gravity and to mount it closer to the driver, so it's mid-engine.
It's not the fastest car around but the chassis is very impressive and you can always add bolt-ons for some additional horsepower. Having said that, it's only a 2.0L engine and puts out 200hp which comes to 100hp per liter which is impressively efficient.

Thanks! I've joined ft86club, my username over there is "Suparu" but i haven't posted anything yet. I'm sure I'll start posting soon b/c I just got my yearly bonus at work so I ordered a catback and the JDM clear side markers. I'll register over at nasioc too and check it out. |
