LIVE streaming of big festivals / events -- is it worth it?

It used to be the case that seeing ANY footage of massive events was an amazing thing. Now it seems that huge festivals and LIVE video/audio streaming are pretty much ubiquitous. On your desktop... mobile...wherever.
Is it still something that adds to the experience? Do you watch any? |

I think, because we are a generation fading away, we are now looking at things with a nostalgic lens.
I remember waiting for hours, leaving the computer on overnight just to download a video less than 10 minutes about a big event overseas. The wait itself was exciting because you knew at the end you were going to get a glimpse of what others like you enjoyed or nerve-wrecking because you might lose your internet connection in the process. Watching streams here and see how people jumped on IDs was also a cool experience. They all were the original Shazam before it was a thing.
With that said, today being selective is a must for streams. It's hardly worth it because of what is currently being played by most in major festivals. |

| I feel if these festivals were important enough that I have to see it, I'd make the trek to attend it myself. Watching a Live Stream strikes me as utterly pointless. Yay, a bunch of people jumping in one spot, with a visual and audio spectacle reduced to a tiny screen and inadequate computer speakers. But that's the old, jaded perspective. For those who've yet to attend many festivals (if any at all), I'm sure the allure of these events is enough to camp out in front of a computer to see what's going down. |

IDs.
And I don't mean to verify your age.
That's what's best about streaming events. |
