Fabric (London)

I'm going to London in about three weeks and I'd really like to go to Fabric on June the 20th to see Function, Peter Van Hoesen, Steve Bicknell and Terry Francis.

However, I'm a bit hesitant. What's bothering me is mainly what I've heard from a few friends who's been there on several occasions.

I'm well aware that the club, most likely is going to be jam-packed and I'd like to be able to dance, rather than not being able to move and then have to wait in line for 20-minutes to get a drink. I don't mind drug use at all but I do find it quite annoying to be offered coke and pills every 5-minutes.

So, what do you guys who've been there have to say? Is it still worth it or should I consider some other options?

It's over rated, but it's rated so highly that it's still really good. Amazing sound system, plenty of bars so don't worry about queuing, and really cool décor and lighting.

The things that bug me about it is that the main act will come on at something stupid like 5:00 am and play until 9:00 when you are completely knackered. It will be rammed early on with yuppies wearing suits etc, but they will all clear off by 2:00 am.

You will probably get the odd person asking you if you want coke but I wouldn't let that bother you :)

Also, if you fancy a pre party in London, come along to this

Thank's for sharing your opinion Jon. I still have plenty of time to weigh my options before I make up mind whether to get some tickets or not. I was just curious to find out what you guys here think.

Eh I've been three times now and never had a great experience, though also never had a terrible experience. If you're going with a group of friends to see someone you really like and you know what to expect I think you'll have a good time. It's certainly worth going once, just to have done it. Just expect a large mix of annoying tourists, annoying university kids, and annoying businessmen. And it's certainly better than MoS, in my opinion.

DJ Qu is playing at Dance Tunnel the same night. Other than that, I haven't found any other interesting events so far. Oh, well, I'm sure I'll find out where to go, eventually.
