Ok..so, I know that this isn't probably the forum for this however I pretty much use this forum 98% exclusively but I gotta tell you guys...
Any Eric Prydz fans out there?
First time ever seeing Eric Prydz this weekend at EDC but been a fan for years.
Guys, simply put..this guy is full on legit. Was blown away at his set.
In a lot of ways he's like Joel in wanting complete control of the production. Lights and all which just blows me away at the scale of this stage. How the do they do all of this?
Anyway...just a ramble. Was so stoked afterwards.

i listened to his set on soundcloud, couple of good tracks in there but a lot of e as well, imho of course. I used to be a huge fan of his but dont dig his music as much i used to but he still has the capability to produce the odd big one

glad you enjoyed it! :)

Prydz rarely misses the chance to catch a John Digweed set.

Word for word my sentiments. I suppose you have to factor in that he's playing at EDC in vegas so it's the a-typical "EDM" crowd (many n00bs too) so he's going to play a lot more mainstream. His cires d stuff is ing great, and I do like pryda sets but usually when he can really get away from the obvious tracks.

Super ing talented guy though.

some of his Cirez D stuff is outstanding - but the money is in shows like EDC i guess, i think he was always leaning that way though with Call On Me and Pjanoo, he obviously wanted to make a good living out of it

Always liked this one:

I don't know, so much of his music has the funny contrast of being both memorable and well-produced without evoking any strong emotion from me. Can't say I'm a huge fan but he is clearly good at what he does.

With some time to digest the weekend..lol
I have concluded that imho Prydz set was the best I saw.
Yes, his set is progressive. It for sure has that 90's prog thing working but then again, that makes sense as that was back in my day =OP
Yep..even older than that..sheesh
I agree, first half was sluggish but second set was just freakin awesome.
Needless to say, in this day and age I totally respect guys like this
who stay true to their roots. Digweed comes to mind..Sasha. Mad respect.
But coming from a person who has seen Floyd,Rush (multiple times) and other misc bands with huge visual stage productions, this one was damn near the top.
This is not my video however, I was one of the fortunate ones up close.
Simply amazing lighting.
3:00 minute mark (of this video) in particular

that was the tune that stood out for me in the set, love the vox sample before the drops - assume its one of his own?

ing knew it would be him under that moniker.

I love how he produces great prog that sound current, simple and driving. He's a class act.
