Nothing much to find on forums about this new ambient band from Norway. Their album that came out end of last year is a masterpiece. Especially track nr. 1. I think they could become the new Carbon Based Lifeforms. Who loved the outstanding album "Carbon Based Lifeforms - Interloper", will also like this one.

This is not psybient, psychill or ambient. And it doesn't really sound anything like Carbon Based Lifeforms either. This is Olafur Arnolds along with some other guy. So you've got Erased Types-style approachable minimalism/modern classical mixed in with some beats that lie somewhere between minimal techno and UK bass.
I've tried to listen to this album before and couldn't get into it. It's hopelessly overblown to me. A couple of tracks it reminds me of, which do relatively similar things a lot more smoothly:

This what you posted really sounds nothing like Kiasmos. Sounds empty and souless to me compare to them, but ok, everybody has different taste. About styles i will not debate, because its useless. Especially in these days, where everything is mixed together. To me Kiasmos - Lit is basically Carbon Based Lifeforms - 20 Minutes v2. To me they sound a lot like CBL, but to get on their level they have a long way to go. But this is a really good start. They are a fresh breath on a not so good ambient/chillout scene latelly, especially with the downhill of Ultimae Records and their ambient artists, which kinda told all the stories of their style.

Let's just say I disagree with you on practically every sentence of your post.

Ah, gotta love guerrilla marketing.

It wasn't that good, I agree with SYSTEM-J.
Innocence Lost
There's so much before carbon based lifeforms ffs that not based in Norway.

I do like Kiasmos, but more of a fan on Olafur Arnalds solo work. He was great live at the Roundhouse - such an epic venue.

Define Ambient but if that what you define as Ambient then you needs yer ears tested because that certainly wasn't Ambient by a mile ..
