[Beginner] NI Massive - Gorgeous Saw Trance Pluck
View this Thread in Original format
SynthHacker
Hey guys, Tom here.

Been a lurker for some time but I thought I'd make my first post a helpful one. Been doing synthesis tutorials for a while as I do sound design full-time, and just started a new fresh YouTube channel for them, the first of which is a really nice classic saw trance pluck.

I know these are done to death a bit but there's a couple of tips to get the most out of Massive and maybe a few people getting into synthesis may find this useful:

Enjoy :)

Welcome to the forum SH! and nice first post!

If you've been a lurker for a while then you know how it goes, so hopefully you've got a thick skin, a set of knee pads and a lot of chapstick.

Hey! I think I might have come across your videos before (the accent is familiar). In fact, if I remember correctly I have some presets I set up by watching the step by step videos. Would be interested in Nexus and Sylenth videos for some commercial EDM stuff!

Yeah, yeah. I really like a lot of underground electronic music, but I think if you really want to do music full time you have to make some commercial stuff, especially in the beginning. Otherwise, the numbers just don't add up. Plus, I like a lot of the commercial stuff too.

And I don't get that kind of response for such a request on the Laidback Luke forum :P

Thanks so much for all the kind words, got many more trance sound design tutorials ready to record and upload, so I may post a few more from time to time.

As for other synths I do plan on covering as many different synths as possible in the future, but for right now I'm concentrating on Massive and Serum (Great Synth)

Yeah I used to run a channel called EverythingSynthesis and also a Serum channel called SerumPresets, but I'm just doing it all under SynthHacker now :)

they have

can you make one on how to chose the pulse oscillator ? You've slightly increased the global noise to signal ratio. It isn't so much that your tutorial is bad and fails to come close but rather you decide to make a tutorial that has been done a million times. Do it better or stop.
