Okay I just wanted to say that since 2007 ever since I first saw my first Tiesto concert in '07, I'll never forget the impact that electronic music had on me. Going from vocal trance and thinking that was the , to going to Dutch anthems and thinking that was the , and then learning more and more about electronic music all the way until 2015 this year I would say electronic music dominated my life for nearly 8 years. Going from DJ MystiK listener who would search "trance" in Bearshare/KaZaa/Limewire to listening to early 90s German classic trance and then getting into early 90s prog house... It always seemed like the more I indulged in electronica the more I would learn new sounds and styles that always would satisfy my daily needs. I used to play music everyday in my car or have some headsets plugged in my ears and having an established track collection on my iPod used to be the biggest deal.
Never in my life would I imagine that all those days of loving EM so much would fade away, to a point where I really don't enjoy music at all like I used to. Music that I used to love can now only be enjoyed occasionally and not everyday for hours anymore. It's started to sound like noise that gets in the way of my actual thoughts now.
Isn't it crazy?? Has anyone else felt this or is it just me? I just wanted to share my personal experience to see if others could relate.
But I've literally explored countless hours searching for all kinds of music now to feed my hunger but that no longer exists.
That's not to say I've removed music overall, no.... Just EDM started to finally get boring to me.
Has anyone else felt this way? Is it just a sign of age? |

| If it's age I should have had it long ago. |

| Not surprising; you've never seemed to actually enjoy electronic music, just feeling special and superior to other people based on listening choices. |

| It happened because you only ever listen to one small slice of electronic music. Your journey took you from trance to trance and then on to more trance. Finally you discovered progressive house, the closest you can get to trance without actually being trance. And even then, you never left a 10 year zone of music. But then, you clearly have some kind of solipsistic personality disorder that prevents you from registering anything outside your interior obsessions, so this is unsurprising. |

| Of course it gets boring if you eat the same goddamn meal every day. |

| I've pretty much run the gamut of all things electronic music and sometimes feel myself getting bored with it, but just like everything else after some time away you can still find yourself in the mood for it. i'm not really that hardcore into it anymore, but then you hear an old favorite tune and you go on a couple day binge digging through all your old favs. that's just the way it goes. |

| I'm at that point in my life where I still love electronic music, and regularly listen to the classics I grew up with, but haven't really had the time (or motivation) to be constantly seeking out new stuff. |

I didn't only listen to trance though. I listened to lots of house, acid house, techno, ambient, and also dabbled in drum n bass, dub step, deep house, breakbeat/jungle, gabber, electro funk, and several other ones I can't remember.
It's not just electronic music though; it's like music overall got lost its lackluster. That includes rock, classical, oldies, hip hop, anime, video game ost, and etc
Like I said music overall is sorta phasing out of my life. Maybe because I got into martial arts and working out or something.
So those of you who've been around for over a decade how did keep feeding that interest? |

| Music has been one of the few constants in my life, I can always look forward to geeking out finding that new track im crazy about. I usually get bored of everything else in life. |

There is no magic formula to it. If music does not interest you, then it just doesn't.
Maybe you just need to stop overthinking it. |

| I let buying music become an addiction. Guess that's better than cigarettes. |
