Nice. I almost bought one for my Mopho X4 a few months back, but decided to replace the synth instead. |

Been GASing over getting a bass again... Thinking about picking up a Fender Jazz Bass...
Want something thats nice to play with a smooth, warm tone.
Any suggestions? |

You can't go wrong with a Jazz, then. I've had the itch to buy an American V for a few years now and it's probably just a matter of time before I do. That said, I've still got my trusty G&L (Leo Fender's company after he sold Fender to CBS) L-2000 that I've owned for 20+ years. It's very nice to play with a naturally smooth tone, and a very round bottom end. It's a very heavy bass, though, which I prefer. But, G&L also makes a lighter and cheaper "Tribute" version of the bass, which is actually a really good deal. The electronics give you a very wide range of tones and makes it great for recording, too, which is why I've kept it so long. It's been my main bass for two decades and was pretty much the only one I brought along to studios back when I was doing session work, just because of its versatility. |
